We have been pushing our society to finally realize that indeed ALL people are created equal!
Since the first person of color has been enslaved in our nation, there have been those amongst us who have recognized that the color of one's skin should have no bearing or be a designation of how people should be perceived or treated.
Through the early days of Reconstruction through the Black Code laws. Through Jim Crow laws and Red Lining, powerful racist societal entities have worked tirelessly to suppress the equality of people of color.
And these institutions persist today. Only today, something is different. Today, for the first time the majority of the nation is saying enough!
Today all people in a colorful chorus are rising up and saying that Black lives are significant! And Black culture is not only an important part of America, it should be embraced. No people have endured so much, for so long. And now is time to once and for all turn the page!
Today, together, we must reach the end of this 400 year struggle. And all of us, regardless of race, who wish to live in a society that no longer denigrates, but rather recognizes, and celebrates all that our Black Brothers and Sisters have endured and bring to the forefront of our nation's stage!
Today, at last...
BLACK IS BIG
